“Do you have words for us?”

I got the reminder in email-form on Monday in the nicest, kindest way. My blog post was due. Did I have words?

My parents celebrated their 45th anniversary this last December, only it was different because, this time, Dad rejoiced from Heaven. He gloried into eternity last year on March 2nd.

My family and I celebrated New Year’s at the Rose Parade. It’s one of the best spectacles in town – I love walking down the middle of Colorado Boulevard before the parade starts with the crush of people on either side.

Every Monday morning my husband Jim and I (AKA Papa and Nanna), receive a special package delivered to a local Starbucks.

We have a real tree this year for the first time in years. It was new to have a fresh tree, but the traditions are still the same.

There are people who love snooze buttons and people who don’t. There’s rolling back up in the warm covers for seven more minutes of blessed sleep

I’m a huge fan of country music and for years have wanted to take a trip to the home of the best music on the planet: Nashville, Tennessee.  

I don’t swim.

I don’t know how to swim.

I do a lot of watching. I watch birds. I watch people. I’ve spent almost two years watching the patterns of growth and death along the campus creek at work.

Unthinkable events unfold before our eyes—sometimes in real life and sometimes on the screens that bring us the news.
