The Blessing of Church Family
November 27, 2019
Hello Church Family,
As we approach Thanksgiving my thoughts tend to turn to blessings and what I am thankful for.
I remember the Thanksgiving after my mom passed in 2001. After moving all day, we were eating Thanksgiving dinner at Denny’s and I was struggling with mom’s death, missing my mom’s turkey dressing and playing cribbage with her, our holiday tradition.
My brother was very supportive and reminded me that we were blessed with still having each other. When I got home, I started to unpack, and pulled out a stack of cards from my church family that was over ten inches tall, filled with words of love and support from when my mom went to be with Jesus.
I realized then what a gift from God I had in a loving church family.
As I look back, it is the staff and church family that has supported me over the years as we have served alongside one another.
We are approaching the Christmas season where we love on our community with Christmas Blvd. and get to serve arm and arm with each other. The facilities team always needs help with doing set-ups and the small behind the scene tasks that go into making this event a success. Our security/first aid team is always looking for nurses and doctors to help in our first aid station during Christmas Blvd. Click here if you would like to find out more about these opportunities.
We are thankful to be serving together.
