Faces Of Our Family – Intern Edition Part 3

By | April 13, 2021

Over the last couple of weeks, we have introduced you to six of our nine interns. This week we introduce you to the last three! Our hope is to share some smiles and stories to feel connected as a church family. We trust that seeing some of your Fullerton Free families’ smiles will bring a smile to your face as well.

Emily Pettitt

Emily Pettitt

Meet Emily Pettitt! She is currently serving as the Kids Ministry intern at Fullerton Free and this is her second semester in this position.

She recently graduated from CSUF with a degree in Bio and Math, but has always had a heart for Kids Ministry. Emily spent summers and winters in college working up at Forest Home in their Elementary-aged camp centers. “I’m excited to continue serving with this age group here at Fullerton Free.”

“God is continually reminding me of His faithfulness, and teaching me how to fully surrender my life to Him. I’ve always been a planner, so after college I had it set in my mind that I needed to establish myself in a career immediately. However, as you could expect from the start of this paragraph, that’s not exactly what the Lord had in mind. Instead, I have found myself in a period of unknowns and waiting, not sure where the Lord is leading me, but learning to trust Him in the process (even if that means I may not be pursuing the field I studied in college). Surrendering doesn’t mean I make the decision for myself and then give it to the Lord in hope of a blessing, but instead, giving Him everything and following Him as He leads me. That’s definitely easier said than done, but I am continually comforted by His faithfulness and encouraged by the community He has surrounded me with each day.”

Nathan Bridgeford

Nathan Bridgeford

Say ‘hi” to Nathan Bridgeford, our Junior High intern! He is currently a Christian Studies major at Cal Baptist University with the goal of pursuing ministry full-time. Something that’s made Nathan smile recently is the fact that baseball season is back.

“I think right now God is reminding me of just how much He loves me. It’s always been easy for me to tell other people that God loves them, but recently He’s been showing me that He loves and cherishes ME despite all of my shortcomings.”

Lyndsey Foushee

Lyndsey Foushee

Lyndsey is our Tech/Production intern here at Fullerton Free. She is a student at Cal Baptist University majoring in Criminal Justice and minoring in Christian Studies. “I love spending time with family and friends, going on walks or runs (preferably by bodies of water), music and laughing or just being weird in general.”

Lyndsey has been attending Fullerton Free her whole life. “It is definitely weird working here realizing that my two year old self was once standing in the same exact spot, with no clue about the future.”

God is teaching Lyndsey the importance of trusting that He is in control. “Oftentimes it is so hard for me to let little things go and trust that it is in God’s hands. When I really get to thinking about it, it is crazy that I sometimes try to trust myself over God, when He knows all and I don’t even know what I am doing tomorrow. God has shown me that I need to let go of everything that I am trying to control and trust in Him.”
