First Sunday (Monthly) | 11:00am

This group will explore how well-crafted literary fiction can reflect theological truth and elicit deeper thinking about our faith and the gospel. Each discussion will provide ways to show us how even secular, not-overtly-Christian books can point to themes of hope, forgiveness, redemption and grief, as these are not only part of the Christian life, but rather part of the experience of life in general. Each month we will discuss one book from a curated list of thoughtful, high-quality fiction books, reading them through the lens of faith and bridge-building gospel conversations. Join us for a six-week, interactive exploration of what it means to follow Jesus, how to develop your connection with God and assess your spiritual health. We are here to help you discover what Jesus wants most from his followers. This is a great opportunity for those new in their faith journey, those who sense it's time to rethink their relationship with God or long-time Christians who would like to refresh the basics. MEN'S RETREAT

OCTOBER

BE FORMED FRIDAY: LECTIO DIVINA

Friday | October 17 | 6:30-8:30pm | Fireside Room

Join us as we gather once a month to learn the fundamentals of a different spiritual discipline, prepare to practice it in our individual lives, and come back together the following month to share our experiences with each other. This is for anyone looking to become familiar with, or deepen their practice with spiritual disciplines together in community. The goal is not to make smarter Christians, but to know Jesus better and to do it together.

For the month of October we'll be learning about Lectio Divina, the practice of prayerfully engaging with small portions of Scripture by reading it slowly and reflectively as you listen for God's voice. No need to register, anyone can drop in. Sign up here to receive reminders and updates.

CHILD DEDICATION

Children are a gift from God and, as a church, we celebrate a formal opportunity to dedicate our kids to a life of following Jesus. Child dedication is for families who would like to dedicate their children to the Lord, commit themselves to the task of raising up disciples of Jesus, and for the church family to love and support them along this journey.

We will have an opportunity for you to attend our required "class" prior to the dedication, if you have not previously participated. This brief class will be held on October 19 at 10:45am in A-111. If interested, please register here.
