Pizzas For Fullerton
By Mitch Fierro | March 11, 2021
A few weeks ago, we received an email from a 4th-grade teacher in Fullerton asking for help . . .
“I’m a 4th grade teacher at Laguna Road Elementary in Fullerton School District and I was wondering if you’d like to be a part of making the day of our students! We are currently studying fractions and the children are struggling to understand such an abstract concept. We’d love to make fractions more concrete and comprehensible by ordering all 80 of our students a Little Caesars cheese pizza of their very own! This year has been so challenging for our learners and yet they have persevered through obstacles and never given up! We’re so proud of our 4th grade scholars and would love to have your help in sponsoring the pizzas for them. We’d have the kids drive through the school to pick up the pizzas next week if you are able to support us.”
It was an easy yes! We hopped in our Care-A-Van, picked up 80 pizzas and got to watch kids’ smiling faces as they drove up to pick up their own pizza. It was so amazing to see how God brought this opportunity to come alongside our neighbors right to us – and all it took was a few helping hands and a lot of pizza!
