Serves: Special Needs Ministry
Works: Approximately 15 hours, part-time, hourly (up to 20 hrs per week seasonally)
Pay Range: $16.50 – $18 per hour
Scope:
To assist the Shepherd of Special Needs and the Special Needs Ministry community. Serve paid and volunteer staff to reach and support special needs families by creating a loving, growing special needs community for God’s glory.
Administrative Organization and Events – 80%
- Assist with and attend (as needed) recurring and special events such as HoopStars, GoalStars, Night to Shine, Friday Night Live, Rainbow Express, events for parents, and Christmas program.
- Order supplies for events and Sunday mornings.
- Keep all special needs groups current on Direct Connect.
- Process all registrations and applications for all Special Needs events and programming.
- Communicate via email and phone with Special Needs students and parents.
- Assist with volunteer processing including fingerprinting.
Sunday Morning Leadership and Oversight – 15%
- Assist in one Sunday morning class each week.
- Lead Circle of Friends Elementary class, Circle of Friends Teen class, and/or Fellowship of Friends class in the event that the Shepherd of Special Needs or Circle of Friends Lead Teacher(s) are unavailable
- Interact with volunteers and students on Sunday mornings, if Shepherd is unavailable.
- Help maintain classroom supplies, materials, snacks, name tags.
Other Ministry – 5%
- Cultivate intimacy with God and growth in Christ-like character through spiritual disciplines.
- Meet with Sunday morning staff monthly or as needed to oversee, empower and evaluate needs.
- Attend weekly staff meetings and serve at all-church events.
